Rosalie yawned and stepped inside the compartment. She was never an early morning person, but she couldn't miss the train. That would be very bad. She sighed as she lifted her trunk and stashed it on top of the shelf. Then, she sat down and made herself comfortable on one of the cushiony benches. She let out another yawn behind her hand before resting her head on the cold, glass window of the train. She smiled as she watched the younger students bidding goodbye to their families.
She couldn't help but remember her first year. Well, it was only two years ago. She remembered her mother being way too overprotective, and her father just standing in the background. Her father wasn't always fun to be around. He tended to be very quiet and laid-back. Unlike her mother who could be very spontaneous at times. Rosalie didn't even notice the compartment door opening until it squeaked slightly. She turned her head so that she could see who had opened it.

Alyssa opened the compartment door her elsewhere as the small first year looked at the older student. "Sorry," she said not meaning to barge in. Alyssa just wanted to look around, not intrude. Still in her muggle clothing of a white blouse, blue skirt, and white shoes she looked at the girl with brown eyes.
Alyssa was one of the few first years that wasn't told good bye. Just left on the platform to await the train while her mother went to another meeting. Sighing she smiled. It's best to introduce yourself rather than just stand their like a fool "I'm Alyssa Matthews," the pureblooded girl said.

(By the way, I'm a third year, it was accidentally put as a first year.)
The girl who opened the door looked a bit younger than her, but nice, otherwise. "Hi, Alyssa," she said with a smile. "Nice to meet you. My name's Rosie," she grinned. "I like your shirt," she complimented Alyssa. "It's cute." Rosalie wasn't sure what else to say to the girl, considering they had just met. She tucked a strand of her long, brown hair behind her ear before returning her gaze to the girl.
"Are you a first-year?" Rosalie asked, curiosity strong in her voice. "I'm going into my third year," she told her.

Feeling a bit warmer towards the new girl she smiled. Completely forgetting her rude intrusion into this girl's compartment. "Thank you, my mother bought it at Spain for me," she told the girl, Rosie, in a light German accent that was mixed with alittle bit of Spanish. The first year being fond of Germany and Spain, since they were both her home countries.
"Yes, I'm a first year. What house are you in?" she asked the third year girl as she sat down across from her brushing her hand through her long wavy brown hair. Brown eyes studying the older witch. She seemed nice. So she didn't expect her to be a Slytherin. But you will never know, maybe not all Slytherins were bad.

Rosalie smiled back at the girl. She was very pretty. "No problem. Wow, Spain? I've always wanted to visit," she said, smiling. Her father had been there many times on business, and he would always come back to tell us how much he liked it there. "I like your accent, very pretty," she commented in her own Brittish accent. She admits it, her accent wasn't much to fawn over, but oh well. It didn't really matter to her.
"I'm a Hufflepuff," Rosalie told the first year. "Is there a certain house you're hoping to be in?" she asked, crossing her legs in a way the Muggles call Indian style. In her opinion, Rosalie could see the girl as either a Ravenclaw or a Gryffindor. Either one could suit her.

Alyssa smiled "Thank you, I guess it's a mixture of German and Spanish. Since both of my parents came from different places" she told Rosie. The story of her parents meeting was like anybody else's, her mother Elizabeth Matthews a skilled Hufflepuff 6th year in Charms, and her father skilled in Transfiguration from Ravenclaw. Both unfortunate enough to have no patience for Muggle Studies, and both unfortunate to be placed in it by their caring parents.
"My mother was in Hufflepuff, but my father was in Ravenclaw. Most of my family comes from different houses, so any house is fine for me. Except for Slytherin, I don't have close family from there, but even if I did I don't like how proud they are," she told the Hufflepuff.

"You're welcome," Rosalie smiled back at the younger girl. "How lucky. My accent? It's boring. Plain ol' British," she said. "I don't mind, though." Rosalie glanced back out the window, to see that they were finally pulling away from the train station. She smiled softly, watching as children stuck their arms out the windows, waving goodbye to their families and friends.
Rosalie laughed. "Wow. Well, Hufflepuff is a nice house. Then again, I have to say that," she said, winking. "Ravenclaw is lovely, too. There are so many nice people there. Also, they're really smart. Gryffindor is okay. Not my favorite house, but everybody there is nice. Slytherin isn't too bad, but I prefer the other houses," Rosalie told the girl.

Alyssa nodded smiling. "British is nice, it has it's ring. Spanish is smooth and German comes from the back of the throat and at times sounds British. That's why it's so wierd," she told her shrugging. She had thought about it before, but never really cared much for it.
"I like Ravenclaw, it sounds promising. But Hufflepuff would make my mom proud and I wouldn't mind. And Gryffindor sounds cool, I wouldn't mind red and gold..." she said smiling. The houses seemed nice, sure Slytherin sounded pretty cool and like her, but that didn't mean she wanted to be around those jerks. Which was the only reason she hated Slytherin.

Rosalie giggled. "That's a great way to describe it," she said, shrugging her shoulders. "I've never really thought of it that way." Alyssa seemed like a really nice girl so far; she had a feeling they would probably become good friends. Rosalie drummed her fingers against her leg as she studied the greenery passing by in a blur with the speed of the moving train.
"I'm sure you'll do great in whatever house you're in," Rosalie assured the first year. "All of the houses are quite nice. I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure I could see you as a Ravenclaw. You just seem like that type," she commented, shrugging her shoulders. "No matter what, we should hang out sometime," she said with a small smile playing on her lips. "I think we'd get along nicely."

Alyssa felt pride rush through her. Her father was in Ravenclaw, and she would love following his footsteps. Smiling she nodded "I think my father would have liked me being in Ravenclaw" she told Rosei. Looking out the window as she wondered how long it would take the train to get to Hogwarts.
"I would like hanging out sometime," she told the Hufflepuff honestly. Silent for a while she looked out the window "So what's your favorite class?" she asked the third year in hope for getting some warning on some of the teachers. Sure she was looking forward to Transfiguration, Charms, and Defense Against the Dark Arts, but she couldn't be sure if she would be good at them.

Rosalie smiled when Alyssa mentioned that her father would like that. "I bet. I think you'd have a lot of fun in that house," she smiled at Alyssa. There was only one thing that Rosalie, herself, would hate about being in Ravenclaw. It's the way they get into their common room. Instead of telling a portrait a password, they are encouraged to answer a question in the best way possible. Rosalie knew whe wouldn't be very good at that. She preferred to stick to a password.
"Sounds great. We'll have to meet up sometime so you can tell me if you like it at Hogwarts," Rosalie responded, grinning. "My favorite class? Ooh, that's a toughy," Rosalie started, placing a finger to her chin. "I would have to go with either Charms or Defense Against the Dark Arts. Both classes are a lot of fun, but also a lot of work. I have a feeling that you'll like most of the teachers," Rosalie told the younger girl. "Beware of Snape and McGonagall, though. Snape is biased and only likes Slytherins, and McGonagall, well, she's very strict."

Alyssa nodded "Those sound fun," she said honestly. To tell the truth, she was looking forward to many of her classes. McGonagall sounded like someone she could handle. Alyssa was good with rules and never seemed to get into trouble. But if Snape only likes Slytherins...Well then...
"Why does Snape only like Slytherins?" she asked the older girl. She hadn't meet the professor yet, but she had heard about him from her mother. She use to say some of his friends turned Death Eater, so she wouldn't be surprised if he was with the He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named to.

Rosalie also nodded. "They are. Professor Flitwick is a very fun teacher," she said, smiling at the girl. "He can make any lesson funny. Sometimes, he lets you practice with your friends. And DADA is probably one of the best classes. You never know what you'll learn," she said, grinning. Defence against the dark arts had always been one of her favorite classes, even if she wasn't perfect at it. In her second year, she got really good at it.
"Well, Snape is the Slytherin Head of House," Rosalie started out with. "He tends to hate all Gryffindors because well, that's how a Slytherin usually is. Hufflepuffs, well, he thinks they're too air-headed. Which, by the way, is absolutely wrong," she said, smirking slightly. "And he doesn't really bother with the Ravenclaws. He does pick on them for being "too smart for their own good" but that's it," she explained.

Alyssa frowned "Too smart for your own good? Wow that makes no sense" she said shaking her head. Looks like whatever house she got put in, their would be something wrong. Great. Well I guess everything has a down side. "I heard Proffersor Flitwick is really tiny," she said cocking her head to the side. Was he really tiny, or just Slytherin joke?
Alyssa looked out the window once more. Gosh, when would they get there?

Rosalie nodded. "Snape...is an interesting teacher, I guess you could say. Many students think he's helping Voldy, but I believe has a good side," she admitted. "He says you'll end up being a know-it-all. Don'r worry, though. Every other teacher is very nice," she said, reassuring Alyssa. "My favorite teacher is definitely Professor Burbage. She's the Muggle Studies teacher."
"Yes, Professor Flitwick is rather tiny," Rosalie agreed, letting out a small laugh. "But don't get on his bad side! He's not afraid to give a detention." Rosalie remembered in her second year, when Fred and George Weasley helped her pull a prank on the Slytherins. Flitwick gave them a week of detention, scrubbing trophies by hand, with Filch. Ugh, Filch is a rat.
As if reading Alyssa's mind, Rosalie looked out the window, too. "We should be there pretty soon."
