Although he wasn't expressing his excitement, Mitch was glad to be going back to Hogwarts for yet another year. And this time he had his little brother accompanying him. Speaking of he'd lost sight of the younger boy. Mitch shrugged. He'd be fine, after all he was sure Dustin had just gone off exploring as usual. Boarding the train he headed for the middle of the train to find himself a compartment. It didn't take long to do so.
Placing his bag up onto the top rack he sat down in the seat and looked out the window at all the kids that were saying goodbye to their parents and then going off with new found friends. He remembered his first year boarding the train. Lost in thought he'd barely noticed that the compartment door was opening until it squeaked. He turned away from the window to see who it might be.

With it being her first trip to Hogwarts Hermione couldn't help but be exstatic that she had been accepted to this most prestigous school being born to muggle parents made her feel that since she wasn't born from magical ones that she had to try twice as hard to fit in there. She was eager to learn everything there was to know about this place.
Hermione was very curious to explore the train that would be taking her to and from Hogwarts. With it being her first year she thought it would be best to find a good place to sit.She approached one of the doors and slid it open seeing a much older student caught her off guard. She dropped her book Hogwarts: A History feeling a bit foolish she decided to introduce herself to her fellow schoolmate. "um, hello I'm Hermione Granger"

He couldn't say he hadn't expected it seeing how many were getting onto the bus, but at the same time, a first year, as he assumed seeing that this girl's robes did not signify which house she was in. "Nice to meet you Hermione," he greeted as he stood to pick up the book she'd dropped. "I'm Mitch Taylor," he introduced himself as he handed her the book, noting the title. He'd always questioned how many first years read the book. He himself spent his first week reading it and it helped greatly.
Taking his spot back near the window he crossed him arms over his chest and looked to Hermione. "Take a seat if you want?" He offered. There was still another fifteen minutes or so before the train actually took off to Hogwarts. "Excited about your first year?" He asked.

She decided to take a seat across from Mitch. As she did so he asked her about being excited for school and she almost burst at the seams when she gave her answer. "yes very very excited I cannot wait to start my classes and I'm curious about which house I'm going to be placed in, you belong to Ravenclaw I see which year are you?"
Hermione figured he must have been in his fifth or sixth year judging by his age."any words of advice for a first year?

The Ravenclaw smirked at her response. Not even he was that excited about being at Hogwarts his first year. And it seemed as though she'd read at least some of the book she was carrying. Smart girl. He glanced out the window for a brief moment, but all the same answered her question. "You are correct, I am a Ravenclaw, sixth year." The teen nodded slightly when questioned if he had any advice for her.
"I could tell you a few things, but it's all just a big learning experience," he informed her. "Reading that book will help you a lot," he said indicating to Hogwarts: A History. Mitch spent most of his time with a book in his hands. Knowledge was power. Not that he was ambitious or anything, in fact he was far from it. "Friends usually help first years get through the year, it makes things a bit more interesting." He couldn't say he thought the same about that, but it was true for others he'd known.
"Regardless, I'm sure you'll get along just fine. Oh, and pay attention when you're being led to your Common Room, it's easy to get lost, especially if the staircase starts to move while you're on it."

'I've heard the staircase moves I can't wait to see it for myself it certainly sounds interesting"She wished the train would start moving already, she was growing impatient."What class is your favorite? if you don't mind me asking, I'm interested in potions but you never know that could change I hope to do well this year"
As much as she wanted to pretend that she was good at everything there was one thing she wasn't and that was making friends she had a very direct way of talking and it seemed to make people think that she was a snob.
She was far from it she tried so hard becuase of the fact that she was muggle born made her feel inferior to some of the other kids; made her feel like she needed to prove herself. She just wanted to be seen as an equal by others in this world.

Mitch smirked. It was amusing to see someone who'd never been to Hogwarts know a lot about it. "I'd have to say Transfiguration is my favorite class. Potions isn't all that bad, but I've never been that great at cooking to begin with." It was true, the Ravenclaw had always done well with spells and such, but potions had never been one of his strong points, though he made sure to get a good mark. accepted the best and nothing but the best from himself.
"I'm pretty sure you'll do just fine." He assured her. Mitch leaned back in the seat and gazed out the window. It was almost time to go. "Is there anyone else accompanying you to Hogwarts?" He asked. "Older brother or sister, maybe a cousin." He kept his focus on the outside of the train. People were finally starting to load up. He looked towards the clock to check the time. Where in Merlin's name was Dustin?
His attention was drawn away from the window as he heard the door move for the second time since he'd taken a seat. Looked as if someone else might be joining them.
